While egg donation isn’t a fulltime job, it takes consistent commitment and significant time dedicated to this process. You might be wondering what possible benefits or compensation you can expect during and after the journey is over. How much do egg donors make? Don’t stress! There are a multitude of benefits to reward our donors for their time and efforts to help build families.

Keep reading and we’ll lay down the positive perks of becoming an egg donor!

How much do Egg Donors Make?

While egg donation is technically a “donation”, why are egg donors reimbursed? We understand the confusion! Egg donors go through lengthy screening, monitoring, and stimulation processes before finally going through egg retrieval (the entire process takes at least 2-4 months). We firmly believe that donors should be reimbursed not for their actual eggs, but for sacrificing their time and successfully going through each step.

While other egg banks differ, here at The World Egg and Sperm Bank, each time you donate (you can donate up to 6 times in your lifetime, no matter the bank) you will be reimbursed up to $6,000.

Are You Reimbursed Per Egg or Per Donation?

All egg donors are treated equally! As this goes for most egg banks in the U.S., egg donors are not reimbursed based on how many eggs we end up retrieving. No matter how many healthy eggs are successfully retrieved (typically 10-20 singular eggs), donors are receiving reimbursement for their efforts and time ALONE.

When Do You Receive Reimbursement?

So, when should you expect to receive your reimbursement? After all screening, monitoring and stimulation, our clinical professionals will retrieve your eggs at our singular facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. Once your retrieval is complete (typically takes less than 30 minutes) and you have rested in our recovery rooms, you will receive a check of up to $6,000.

Do You Have to Pay Anything Out of Pocket to Donate Your Eggs?

So, what about other expenses? Egg donation requires:

  • Doctor appointments
  • Genetic screening for mental and physical disorders
  • Stimulation medication
  • Procedural costs

Fortunately, you can rely on us! Egg donors should not and never will have to worry about fully or partially covering the costs for these necessary expenditures.

BUT what if you live outside the state of Arizona, and need to travel to donate your eggs with us? We got you covered there too. With us, we reimburse for:

  • Gas miles or flight to and from our facility in Scottsdale, AZ.
  • Hotel stays.
  • Daily per diem for food and activities.

All of this is to ensure our donors’ only focus is following each step of the donation journey.

Other Benefits to Donating Your Eggs.

It doesn’t stop there! Other key benefits you can expect from donating your eggs can include:

  • Fulfillment knowing you’ve helped a couple start their family (couples struggling with infertility, LGBTQ+ couples etc.)
  • FREE medical and genetic screenings to give insight on your health, potential health issues, and ways to manage your health.
  • Receive valuable education on your fertility health.
