Sperm Donation Income: How Much Do Sperm Donors Make?
A sperm donor walks into a bank… what does he leave with? Does contributing your sperm to a future family mean there is no reimbursement for your time and efforts? How much do sperm donors make if not? Through this blog we’ll provide you with an exact understanding of the compensation expectations for a committed sperm donor. We want YOU to have all the information need to make an informed decision before beginning this journey!
Does “Donating” Your Sperm Mean You Won’t be Compensated?
One BIG misconception about sperm AND egg donation, is that donation means there is no compensation involved. While this is NOT true, there are clear distinctions for what exactly the donor is being reimbursed for. Sperm donors are NOT paid for their donations. Rather reimbursed to recoup the time and efforts they’ve spent commuting to our facility, going through testing, and providing recurring samples.
How Much Do Sperm Donors Make?
Now that we know sperm donors will receive regular reimbursements for the remainder of their journey, exactly how much do sperm donors make? At The World Egg and Sperm Bank, all donors will receive $100 per donation visit. (This is standard across most banks.)
When and How Do You Receive Reimbursement?
Now, how should YOU expect to receive the reimbursement? Once sperm donors have finished collecting, payments are issued in the form of checks created on a weekly basis. Sperm donors will receive half of the reimbursement up front ($50), and the rest paid in lump sums after a waiting period required by the Food and Drug Administration. This is so each of the samples can pass a 6-month infectious disease blood test, to ensure it is safe and healthy.
You may be thinking, if sperm donors receive $100 per donation, what is the frequency at which you can donate to receive the HIGHEST compensation? While we require donors to donate at least once a week, you can donate AT MOST, 3 times a week, receiving $1,200 per month.
